Aestheticians, Cosmetologists,
and Skin-Care Professionals
Aestheticians use HobaCare Jojoba to massage the face, to remove make-up, to cleanse
the pores, as an ingredient in facial masks to improve the flow of nutrients into
the skin, to soothe the skin after body sugaring/hair removal, and to condition
scalp and hair while massaging the scalp. They will often add
essential oils to their formulas to individualize treatments and to enhance
the overall effectiveness of their procedures.
Aestheticians are advised to read the sections on this web site for
massage therapists and aromatherapy
to learn more about HobaCare Jojoba.
The following are some of the ways in which Aestheticians use HobaCare Jojoba in
their practices:
Facial Massage. Remove make-up with HobaCare Jojoba using a soft cotton cloth
or puff. You will find that only a few drops will be necessary to complete the job.
When make-up is removed and skin is thoroughly cleansed, commence the facial massage.
Please refer to the Massage section to best gauge
the way to use the product.
Body Sugaring/Hair Removal. Nothing soothes the skin after hair removal procedures
like HobaCare Jojoba. HobaCare contains no additives, so your client does not experience
the uncomfortable sting of alcohol-based products or the discomfort of creams and
lotions. The conditioning effects of HobaCare help restore the skin after the procedure.
We recommend a full body massage with HobaCare after hair removal procedures to
soothe and relax the entire body.
Facial Masks. HobaCare Jojoba combines well with most facial formulas and
improves the flow of their nutrients into the skin. Apply HobaCare to the skin prior
to applying the mask, or, if appropriate, mix HobaCare directly with
mask ingredients prior to application.
Scalp and Hair. A scalp massage is relaxing, and it invigorates the scalp.
A scalp massage with HobaCare Jojoba conditions the scalp and hair, relieves dry
scalp, cleanses hair follicles, and gives the hair manageability. The "heat"
generated from the massage effectively opens the pores of the scalp and increases
blood flow to that area. We recommend washing the hair after scalp massage. One
or two sudsings will be sufficient to wash excess HobaCare away, leaving in the
scalp and hair what is needed to maintain vitality and conditioning. You may wish
to use one of the hair and scalp recipes set forth in
the Aromatherapy section of this web site to enhance the effects of the scalp massage.
It is important for licensed Aestheticians to realize that Aromatherapy has been
cheapened in recent years by mass marketers' attempts to cash in on a renaissance
of appreciation of plants and our connections to them. There are now too many so-called
"aromatherapy" products on the market that have about as much relevance
to true aromatherapy as tin does to gold. Most of them carry synthetic fragrances,
which do more harm than good. None of these counterfeit products get to the true
character of aromatherapy, which is not just about smelling something. Genuine Aromatherapy
is more ethereal and diffuse. It goes to the heart of the chemistry of the plants
and their effects on our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual consciousness.
Aestheticians interested in integrating aromatherapy into their practices need to
do more than cursorily review available, pre-packaged aromatherapy products. They
need to educate themselves about the aromatherapeutic effects of specific plant
essences on the emotional, psychological, physical, and mental states of their clients.
We encourage all Aestheticians with a genuine interest in aromatherapy to read deeply
and to learn as much as they can about this increasingly important field. Our Bibliography is a good place
to start. A second starting place is the National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy
(www.NAHA.org), which is a wonderful
source of knowledge.
We sell our product to many spas and salons throughout the United States and Canada.
We also export to Japan, Korea, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, England, France,
Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Germany.
