Making Balsam Fir Infused Jojoba

Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea). Of our Northern conifers, the scent of balsam is arguably the most evocative, reminding many of us of Christmas trees or a hike in the woods. Here in Maine a common souvenir for tourists and locals alike is a small pillow or sachet filled with its fragrant dried needles. There are many uses for balsam fir but today I want to share one of my favorites: infusing balsam fir into jojoba for a fragrant treat for your skin and hair.

DIY Herbal Hot Spot Treatment

Most likely, if you have pets, you've experienced a hot spot. Hot spots are acute moist dermatitis, and are characterized by red, irritated, weepy sores that can be terribly difficult to get rid of. They can grow rapidly as pets try to clean them with constant licking. There are loads of treatments out there, but we have found a simple treatment that works beautifully. Plain jojoba works wonderfully on hot spots, we've heard from many pet owners that have used 100% jojoba straight from our bottles on hot spots.

Sinus Clear Essential Oil Blend

Jojoba makes an excellent carrier for essential oils, we won't got into the nitty gritty of why in this post, find out more on our post dedicated to this topic. We decided to do a Mix of the Month, essential oil mixes to make and use. Since it's that time of the year when many are plagued by colds and flus, we decided a little decongestant essential oil mix would be useful. This mix was developed by me over a few years.

The very best thing about jojoba is that is does not become rancid and aids in the integrity of essential oils.

Every one of your claims are true - the lack of staining and smell, the affinity with the skin, and my clients love that they don't get up from the table feeling like greased pigs (my words). Of course, as a massage therapist, none of that would matter if the grip and glide weren't perfect... and they are.

I did a lot of research on what to use on my skin and then where to get it. I know I made the right choice.

I love this product. My esthetician had been using it on my skin for years. Trusting her knowledge of skincare and product-lines for the last 20+years, I decided to wean myself from traditional body moisturizers in 2018, and transition to jojoba oil for my basic skin care moisturization.

I ordered one gallon of jojoba online yesterday afternoon and I received it this morning at 9:30!!!!!
Thank you so much for your prompt service.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have had the pleasure of working with your excellent Jojoba for 11 years as a massage therapist and also for personal use. I have occasionally tried other highly regarded massage oils and lotions over the years but always come back to your product. It is simply the best!

There are some Maine products that serve us well through the sweltering days of August to the frigid days of January and every day in between. Jojoba is one of them!

My clients love Jojoba; it washes out of sheets and clothing easily, and it makes my work easier. The absence of fragrance is especially nice. I highly recommend it!
