Our mix of the month for May is fitting, it's an itch stop mix for insect bites. Here in Maine the period between Mother's Day and Father's Day is known as "Black Fly Season". These little insects can make being outside very unpleasant, their bites can itch for days or a week. There are many different essential oils recommended for insect bites, we found that eucalyptus worked best here and for black fly bites. Others you could try if you don't have eucalyptus are: lavender, chamomile, tea tree, and peppermint.

With Mother's Day a month away we've been thinking about ways to incorporate jojoba into pampering gift baskets for mom. The beauty of jojoba is that it's pretty much the perfect all-natural product for skin, scalp, and hair. While a bottle of jojoba combined with a few plush towels or a robe, it's fun to make a bath product as well. We decided a sugar scrub was perfect, because it can be made easily by little ones.
In early July, I stopped by Glendarragh Lavender Farm during the lavender harvest. We are so incredibly lucky to have a source for organic lavender so close. Glendarragh has the same philosophy that we do here at The Jojoba Company, here's a quote from their website "We believe in the simple elegance and healthful benefits of synthetic-free, natural products". We couldn't agree more! Lucky for you, they sell their lavender on-line.
Jojoba makes an excellent carrier for essential oils, we won't got into the nitty gritty of why in this post, find out more on our post dedicated to this topic. We decided to do a Mix of the Month, essential oil mixes to make and use. With summer upon us, many of us are working in the garden and participating in sports and other active hobbies. This means sore muscles!
For all the same reasons that jojoba makes a great carrier for essential oils, it also makes a great carrier to infuse with botanicals (see our post dedicated to this topic here). Infusing jojoba with botanicals can take it up a notch, adding healing elements to an already amazing product. Jojoba's shelf stability and long life makes it one of the best mediums for such infusions.

We decided to do a Mix of the Month, essential oil mixes to make and use. Since it's that time of the year when many are plagued by colds and flus, we decided a little decongestant essential oil mix would be useful. This mix was developed by me over a few years.
Being someone who loves the juniper & herb smell of gin, I decided that it would make a fantastic beard oil. As with any essential oil, the varieties chosen for this beard oil have benefits in addition to smelling great. Not only is this mix great for beards, it's a great hair treatment as well, fighting frizz, providing aromatherapy and herbal benefits to your hair.

We decided to do a Mix of the Month, essential oil mixes to make and use. Today we're tackling headaches, something we all deal with from time to time. This mix was recommended to me by an essential oil consultant friend. I made a batch and gave it to a few friends & family members for testing.
Since Bob and Brian are participating in No Shave November, we decided a recipe for a stress reducing beard oil would be fitting. Jojoba makes a great beard oil for many reasons, you can read our post with all the details here. Jojoba by itself makes a great beard oil, but we thought adding a few essential oils that reduce stress would be a great option, especially since the holidays are coming up.
Every one of your claims are true - the lack of staining and smell, the affinity with the skin, and my clients love that they don't get up from the table feeling like greased pigs (my words). Of course, as a massage therapist, none of that would matter if the grip and glide weren't perfect... and they are.
I did a lot of research on what to use on my skin and then where to get it. I know I made the right choice.
There are some Maine products that serve us well through the sweltering days of August to the frigid days of January and every day in between. Jojoba is one of them!
I have been using your product for years and I love it! It is the only product I use for the face and body!
The results were instant! My hair not only had sheen, but totally eliminated the friz!
I threw away all of the other goopey hair gels.
After few days of using it, I must admit that the product has proved itself beyond my expectations! My 4 year old son was suffering from a red bottom due to frequent wetting. Since I've used the Jojoba, his skin is bright, clean, and with no signs of red. I'm very grateful to you.
I’ve used other jojoba extracts and this one is by far superior.
After 35 radiation treatments I recommended your product to my friend for his burns. Like magic it is soothing and healing the area. Wonderful jojoba. Thank you.
I bought your product... and my husband thought it was just another product I had to have - now he uses it all the time and reminded me when we're running low. So we both think it's great. Thanks.
I love how it absorbs into the skin and leaves it silky smooth, what a fantastic carrier it is for essential oils, that it doesn't go rancid, so my sheets remain sweet-smelling and that the (jojoba) is so stable with an incredible shelf-life. What's not to love?
